The imagery of Ho's sculpture has its roots in the ancients, like the Hindu and the Mayan. Representational and figurative, Ho's method of personal expression evolved over the years, from writing to the visual arts, from photography to pen and ink drawing and painting then eventually to sculpture. He has sculpted for some 30 years and has created more than 200 narrative bronze figures.
Ho's images and motifs are primitive, brut, and primal, yet they’re sophisticated, excessive and intricate. They are of intuitively created timeless images, the product of an impulsive mental flow that unfolds in an arduous sculptural process that turns a lump of clay into a bronze humanoid. In idea and execution, the work rivals the greatest surreal interpretations of the animal and human form. It lends itself to scenario, beyond monsters or gargoyles, to other beings, and interpretations of his works are boundless.
